MEDIA: Bauhaus Brew Labs Classic Import Car Night

Here is some great coverage of the Bauhaus Brew Labs + Japanese Nostalgic Car Classic Import Car Night back in October from Flecs. Bauhaus let the local Japanese Nostalgic Car Community club host an event for all classic import cars in the Twin Cities for the first time in 2017, looking at the turn out you wouldn't believe that this was hosted on a Thursday Night.

EVENT: Paul Walker Cruise and Car Show 2017

This year was the 5th iteration of one of the most prominent events in the Minnesota car community, and we decided to return to where it all began, The Automotorplex. The owners had us back to host one of the best yet, except this time they opened their garages to us and even came along for the cruise. With 613 vehicles in the cruise and many more filling the spectator lots, it was a great day to cruise and an even better day to get some dope photos.

SPOTLIGHT: What's the deal with... The Nissan Pao?

Over the last few months we have seen a large influx of JDM cars thanks to Brian Jannusch and International Vehicle Importers opening up shop in St. Paul, MN. One of the first cars he ever sold up here was this Nissan Pao (pronounced: Pow), sold to Hiep Dang of Pristine Detail. At the beginning of May MNCEC put on their first show of the year, aptly named Ignition. Originally it was going to be held at the US Bank Stadium ramp but due to the turn out at the Winter Ramp Meet in February it was moved to Canterbury Park. We couldn't have asked for better weather at the show and the turn out was unreal. I spent literally the entire show judging with our guest judges; Art from Grimmspeed, Dan Carey from Modern Automotive Performance and Brian Jannusch from International Vehicle Importers. With nearly 1000 cars to judge and 4 people over a course of 4 hours, we had our work set out and it took literally the entire time.

LISTS: Top 5 Japanese Cars of the 1980s

While America was overcoming their malaise of the previous decade and Europe was doing a fantastic job catering to the 1%, a third option found it's way into the American lexicon. The Japanese automobile. Japanese cars had been around in America since the 1950's but with The Malaise of the 70's the Japanese imports began to find their way into American households in large numbers for the first time. Like the rise of the mammals over dinosaurs after the Cretaceous Paleogene extinction event, The 70's saw the once great giants of American muscle cars lose ground to the more nimble Japanese cars.
